With Each Box FabFitFun sends a fun and visually appealing insert.  You will find a note from the editor, a full description of what is in your box and retail values, and special articles including but not limited to holiday music selections and five tips when flying.

My items arrived in fantastic shape.  I have yet to receive an item in over seven boxes that is damaged. You can see a past review by clicking here or by going to the search bar or clicking on my Subscription Box List.

Note:  The first three items had different color and scent options.  Any subscriber that is a VIP (meaning your purchased a year in advanced) is sent an email before shipping to choose what variations of items they like the most.

Item One:  Fingerless Gloves by Whitney eve and FabFitFun ($26)

FFF Winter 2015 gloves

I really love these gloves.  They fit great, look stylish and of course your fingers are free, making it easier to pick things up or use your phone.  Great for the morning commute, especially if you love drinking coffee.  FFF also gave VIP members the chance to pick these up in black.  I preferred the gray.

Item Two:  Diffuser by EJH Brand (Cinnamon $37)

The diffuser by EJH Brand is beautiful and festive.  With an eco-friendly fragrance and five reeds, this is sure to be a hit at my holiday part. I have not opened this to try it because I am saving it for Christmas Eve, but I will report back later on how it worked.  VIPs were able to choose from pomegranate, cinnamon, sugar cookie or lavender scents.

Item Three:  The Donna Earbud by Friends ($80)

FFF winter 2015 earbuds

These earbuds are pretty pricey.  VIP’s were able to choose from multiple colors like black and rose gold.  I really went back and forth on the colors, in the end I went with the color that matched my phone.

Item Four:  Dermalogica Travel Set ($45)

There usually is one or two items in a subscription box that make the cost well worth it, and form me it was this Dermalogica Travel Set.  In a past box I have received their serum and I still use it to this day.  This is a great brand and this kit specifically is designed to keep your skin at its best with a soap free-foaming cleansing gel, a multi-active toner and a medium weight moisturizer to smooth and balance.

Item Five:  Nail Polish by Zoya ($9)

zoya nailpolish fff winter box 2015

Another favorite item in the box, and that is strange because I normally hate receiving nail polish.  This deep berry colored Zoya is the exception, the color is incredible.  I actually already have it on.  The formula is also pretty impressive since there is no formaldehyde, formaldhyde resin, toluene, dibutyl phthalate or camphor.

Item Six:  Candlenut Body Crème by JUARA ($35)

canlenut body cream fff winter

Used for centuries in Indonesia, Candlenut Oil is making its way across the ocean to save our dry hands!  With ingredients that support the candlenut oil such as Lllipe Butter, Rice Bran Oil and Avocado oil, this velvety body cream hydrates.  It has a light citrus scent that is not overpowering and feels amazing going on with no major residue.

Item Seven:  Wine Stopper & Charm Set by FabFitFun

fff wine stopper

My family does not drink much wine because many of us have sulfite allergies however, I plan on making a Southern Comfort Punch (you can see the recipe in my pinterest under holidays) and these charms will look really cute on peoples glasses.  I received glass writers last year from a sub box and I plan to write peoples names and attach a charm on each of their glasses.  It should look pretty cute.

Item Eight:  Gift Card by Shoptiques ($25)

Shoptiques is an online destination that allows you to shop the world’s best boutiques. More than 2,000 stores from all over the world are available at your finger tips. This is a true gift card and can be used for items under $25.  I already know that I am gifting this to a family member.

Item Nine:  Gift Card by Sweet & Spark ($40)

sweet and spark

Sweet and Spark offers costumers vintage jewelry .  I had a chance to go through their site before my box arrived and although the concept is cool, jewelry from 1950-1990.  After searching for awhile I did find one item close to four dollars that I thought may be worth it, but I did feel their prices were a bit inflated, most likely in part to the ease of being able to purchase vintage with one click.

There also was a Hello Fresh three free meals for new subscribers card and a chance to partner with FFF and donate to the ASPCA.

Value:  If you follow this blog you know that FabFitFun is one of the most valuable subscriptions out there.  For $39 (with a new subscription code) you will receive over $300 dollars worth of items, and some great gift ideas.  My husband gifts this to me every year because he knows I really enjoy the four seasonal boxes with products that I would not even know existed.  I cannot recommend this gift enough for the ladies in your life.

Saturday Simplicity *Fabfitfun Fall Coupon Code and Spoiler Alert

SimplySaturday–     Thank the stars above for three day weekends!  We made it through the first few weeks of school.  B officially starts school in three days and is in her fourth week of dance class.  Happily all is well.

–   I have fallen behind on reviews but will try to put up several this weekend.  Lately my subscriptions have been pretty amazing.  I have been working hard on my first Knit Crate Newbie project and I am almost finished.  Knitting really helps me get my mind off of things and just relax.  I just received the Try the World Japan Box (you can click the link for $15 off your first box) and will post that as well this weekend.  Also, I am about to receive another Dia and Co. box, I can’t wait.

Disclosure:  This post contains a referral link for Try the World and FabFitFun.

 –     FabFitFun has released three spoilers and they look incredible!  If you are a select member (purchased an annual subscription)  you can now pick your color choices in your select members area of your account. I had to snag the Aquamarine bracelet below, it is my birthstone.  They also now have addons for your box.  They bill on September 14th, so if you have not purchased one, you may want to pick it up soon.

Fabfitfun is $49.99 a quarter but new subscribers can receive $10 off by clicking here and typing Coupon Code FUTURE10 at checkout.  Their fall box is looking fantastic and $39.99 for around $300 worth of products is amazing.  You can see a past review by clicking here.

Here are some of your color choices and the three spoiler items:

–     Today we had Jake’s cross country meet and we have planned a fun last weekend of swimming with the kids.  I am going to miss the pool, but I really love the fall.  Backyard fires, pumpkins, changing leaves, lattes, holidays and weather that is just beautiful. I wanted to give you all a heads up that Starbucks is bringing back their Pumpkin Spice Lattes on the eighth.  This year they are including real pumpkin in the recipe.  I will let you all know what I think….or if you get one faster let me know.

Happy Labor Day Weekend.

What’s New Wednesday: Sprouting Threads Subscription Box Review and Coupon Code

Sprouting Threads box

Sprouting Threads
Cost:  $20 styling fee plus cost of items kept/monthly or quarterly
Shipping:  United States
Coupon:  Use Coupon Code QUALITY25 to receive 25% off your first box.

sprouting info

–     In the South we go back to school in less than a month.  As the new school year approaches many parents begin their quest to purchase back to school clothes and supplies.  Sprouting Threads, who kindly sent me this box for review, is a new clothing subscription for ages 2-8 that makes picking out high quality, great looking outfits simple.  But here is the best part, after your child grows out of their outfits you can choose to reThread them.  This means you send those outfits that no longer fit back in the envelope included in your box.  If your outfits meet their guidelines, you will typically be given between a $5-$12 discount per piece returned, that you then can apply to your next purchase.

st july b and angel statute–     I am so impressed with the outfit choices in my box, but more importantly, my daughter absolutely loved them.  When you first subscribe you take a styling quiz that helps Sprouting Threads match you with clothes you will love. Sprouting Threads lets you choose the amount and frequency of items you get.  Subscribers choose 2-5 items monthly or quarterly.  Also, each month you can decide if you want all new, or a combination of new and reThreaded outfits sent.

First look, everything was in great condition.

Outfit One:  Jersey Tank ($28) and Gathering Place Skirt ($46)

sp july baileigh standing gypseyst darker version cream shirt–     The lace pattern on this tank is beautiful.  Very elegant.  I also love the little embroidered bunny on the side of the shirt.

st july boho skirt–    My pictures honestly do not do this outfit justice; it is spectacular.  B felt like a princess.  When we first tried it on, she did not want to take it off.  I also love anything with a bohemian vibe, so I was thrilled with this choice.

Outfit Two:  Deaux Par Deux Tee with Flowers ($28) and Jeggings with                          Skirt ($30)

IMG_2529

–    This outfit is so much fun!  One of the notes I made in my styling options was that I want B to look like a kid, and her outfit choices should be modest.  These jeggings are great.  They are cute and B will stay covered as she runs around like she always does. st peach shirt –     The gold studs really give this shirt personality.st pants

–     The jeggings/skirt fit B beautifully.  I loved the deep dark blue color.  They will go with so many other shirts, even the tank above.

st july b at cherry berry–     What makes this subscription different is the reThreading option.  Any parent knows that kids grow out of their outfits faster than you purchase them.  ReThreading is a great way to save money and time.

Here is how reThreading works:

1.  Your child grows up and outgrows their clothes.

2.  Check site guidelines to make sure pieces meet requirements.

3.  Send in pieces using the prepaid reThread envelope in each box or request an envelope.

4.  After receiving and inspecting the pieces, Sprouting Threads will credit your account for 20-30% of the original purchase price ($5-$20 per piece) to be used for future deliveries.

Bonus Item:  Handmade Bluebird Hair Clips ($6.00)

IMG_2557

–     We are growing B’s bangs and these clips are perfect.  They also look lovely with our first outfit.

Value:  What makes this subscription ideal, is the reThreading option and the fact that your styling fees go towards your purchase of two of the items.  You can also pause your subscription at any time.  I have spoken on several occasions with customer service and they are very responsive and professional.  If I were to keep all five items the total would have been $138.00.  Sprouting Threads has offered my readers $25% off their first box using coupon code QUALITY25 at checkout. I will definitely be rethreading and continuing with this subscription in the future.

First look kiwi aug 2015
First Look August

–      I was secretly hoping my daughter’s Kiwi Crate would arrive today, so I was so happy when she came running in my room with her green box.  Every month around the 15th my daughter begins to scope out the mail each day and when she finally sees her crate she is just beyond happy.   She knows that this is her special green crate, and she and mom are about to have some fun.  Kiwi Crate is a once a month subscription service for kids ages 3-7 that provides themed arts and craft with a strong education experience.  This just happens to be the box that hooked me on subscriptions.  It was my first and is still one of my favorite.

goldfish suppliesboat materials kiwi aug 2015–    One of the biggest selling points for Kiwi is that it saves parents so much time developing educational crafts.  I love that I don’t have to go out and purchase a bunch of different items each month.  We also subscribe to Koala Crate most months and you can see a review for a past Kiwi Crate here or a Koala Crate here.

aug explore mag–     As an extra bonus, every month Kiwi sends you a copy of explore! magazine.  It is full of more crafts and games.  B is finally sitting down and going through this with me.  She loves the “I Spy” type games.  The August Box included two main projects.

Project One:  My Fish Lantern

kiwi goldfish

–    We had so much fun creating our fish lantern.  We just purchased Betas for our playroom so B is all about fish right now.  The fact that it lights up is always a big bonus.  My only tip is to make sure you put down your mess free mat, we had tissue paper, not really a mat or bag.  B really was into the glue a bit too much.  In the end it worked out and she was so proud.

Project Two: My Paddle Boats

kiwi boats–     These paddle boats were very simple to put together.  B did not feel like coloring so we talked about straight lines, dots and hearts.  She helped a bit with the dots and we spelled out her name.  She could not get these in the tub fast enough.  You wind them up using the rubber bands and then let them go.  She had a hard time winding without help but that did not stop her from having a blast in the tub.  She is still playing with them as I type this.

kiwi boats in tubBonus Item:  Kiwi Eraser Set

kiwi aug bonus erasers–     These erasers were a gift to subscribers as a way of saying thanks.  It was a nice bonus, especially considering it was back to school for us this week.

Value:  You can’t really do a crate cost break down since the materials are made exclusively for Kiwi Crate but, you also can’t put a dollar amount on the weekend fun my daughter and I have with this subscription.  I cannot recommend Kiwi, Koala and the other subscriptions enough.  If you sign up using my link (click here) you can receive your first box for $10. If you do not like this subscription you can skip or cancel in your account at any time.
